Admission Requirements for Graduate Program
The graduate program is a basic and challenging undergraduate programme with area specialisations. It encompasses the basic IT technology, both applied and fundamental. The programme also provides advanced and in-depth knowledge of IT to prepare the students for challengens in IT career. The programme is full-time courses.
Admission Criteria (2019)
- The students who gained total (450) marks and above or those who gained (140) marks and above for total marks of English and Mathematics in their Matriculation Examination (2019) Academic year can apply for entrance of the University of Computer Studies, Yangon. The applicants/students will be selected in the order of merit of their total marks.
Programme Structure for Bachelor Degrees
- Students have to take nine semesters course work and one semester internship for bachelor degree.
- Students must complete the total credit specified for bachelor degree.
- Students must understand and follow class attendance and participation policy such as: quizzes, assignments, test, final exam.
- After completing the bachelar degree program, qualified students can join to Master degree program.
Duration of Programme
The bachelor programme is full-time and divided into two semesters in every course work year.

Admission Requirements for Master Program
The Master program is a comprehensive and challenging post graduate programme with area specialisations. It encompasses the latest research findings, both applied and fundamental. The programme also provides advanced and in-depth knowledge of IT to prepare the students for challenges in IT career. The programme is a full-time course.
Admission Criteria
- Candidates must possess bachelor degree with Grade A or B for computer science/technology field.
Programme Structure for Master's Degrees
UCSY offers the following programs for master degrees
- M.C.Sc (Knowledge Engineering)
- M.C.Sc (Software Engineering)
- M.C.Sc (Cyber Security and Forensics)
- M.C.Sc (Business Information Systems)
- M.C.Tech (Embedded Systems)
- M.C.Tech (Computer Communication and Networks)
- Students have to attend one year (two semesters) course work and one year thesis work.
- Students must complete the total credit specified for bachelor degree.
- Students must understand and follow class attendance and participation policy such as: quizzes, assignments, test, final exam.
- Thesis work resumes continuously after successful completion of course work exam.
Duration of Programme
The Master programme is full-time and divided into two semesters in course work year.

The submission of Thesis should be done within one year.
Graduation Requirement
Candidates must achieve a successful completion of their course work and thesis.
Admission Requirements for Doctoral Program
UCSY awarded more than 300 Doctor of Philosophy degrees since 2004. The UCSY's Doctorals degree programme is primilarily a research programme with broad area of specialisations. But, every Ph.D candidates also need to take the one-year course work to get the advanced knowledge and ideas in their research work.
- Application for admission
- Official transcripts and proof of degree completion from all colleges and universities attended
- Two copies of parents' National Identity Card
- Two letters of recommendation in sealed envelopes
Admission Criteria
- The candidates must possess at least one master degree relating information technology.
- The candidates must take the entrance exam for English Proficiency and General Knowledge.
- The candidates are required to submit the recommendation of two referees.
- The candidates are required to also submit the recommendation of department head.
Programme Structure for Doctoral Degree ( Ph.D (IT) )
- Candidates have to attend one year (two semesters) course work and two to four years research work.
- Students must complete the total credit specified for bachelor degree.
- Students must understand and follow class attendance and participation policy such as: quizzes, assignments, test, final exam.
- Research work resumes continuously after successful completion of course work exam.
Duration of Programme
The Doctoral programme is full-time and divided into two semesters in course work year.
